My name is Maria and I am a babywearing Mei Tai mama.
The reason this site is called SimplyMeiTai is because I absolutely adore this wonderfully made Asian inspired soft carrier and want to devote my time in making lots of them for you all to try and see for yourself how great they are too! Each and every SimplyMeiTai is handmade by myself, so you can be sure that you will receive a quality carrier which will suit your needs exactly.
I have put a great deal of effort in finding the perfect fabrics and I am proud to say that I my strap fabrics are sourced and manufactured in the North of England, and we use smooth Chinese dupion silks for the linings.
The idea of starting SimplyMeiTai came to me when trying to find myself a baby sling without breaking the bank, there were so many different brands to choose from that I really didn't know where to start! I had some sewing experience so thought “why not make one myself?” So with the help of a friend we came up with the basic "SimplyMeiTai" design. I have adapted the design over the years to suit my own needs and to improve the general look and feel of it and of course the feedback I have had of other babywearing mamas has been priceless.
