Back Carry
Back carries are a godsend if you've got something important to do, here we show you how.

Begin with your little one sitting down, propped up on the sofa or of course if really small, lying down (please be aware that it is not recommended to carry your baby on your back until they have good head control). Now bring the Mei Tai underneath his/her arms as shown in the first picture making sure you are holding the top straps tight and secure under the arms. With a swift but gentle movement pick your baby up by the straps and up and over your shoulders so s/he is resting on your back.

Keeping the straps taut, bring one strap over your head to the opposite shoulder so that it is in the correct position for your carry. When you have this in position bring the long straps down between your legs and grab them between your knees holding them in place. Your baby will still be secure in this position.
Now for the short straps, take the straps either side of the Mei Tai and position them underneath your baby's legs so that the Mei Tai is folded underneath their bottom to form a seat.

At this point you can take hold of the top straps and baby will be in the back carry position, now you have two options, you can take the straps and cross them over your chest, I always do a little jump and jiggle at this point to make sure little one is down enough in the Mei Tai, then bring the straps around the back and under or over the bottom and tie in a secure knot.
Ladies with a larger bust may find this slightly uncomfortable.
OR

Bring the straps round and under your arms like a rucksack, and again tie under or over your baby's bottom.
Sit down back carry

Sit your baby on the Mei Tai on a sofa or in this case a bench! Now sit down in front of your baby and tie the straps around your waist tightly, making sure you tie the straps underneath the baby's legs.

Gripping hold of both top straps, slowly pull on the straps whilst getting up to standing position and give a little jiggle and either tie over your chest or as a rucksack style like above.
