Furoshiki Mei Tai
28 June 2010

This is an exciting SimplyMeiTai to write about, as it posed a little challenge for us. Furoshiki are a traditional Japanese wrapping cloth dating back to the Nara period (710-794). These decorative pieces of Japanese cotton were used for transporting goods.
When this mama fell for this print, we were only able to source enough for the body panel, and not the waist or the hood; thankfully it stretched as far as it has.
I could go on and on about how much I like this unique fabric, but instead you might want to know the straps are navy corduroy and the hood is the most beautifully vibrant red silk.
